This route is a delight for lovers of art and history, as it will allow you to visit the Historic Site of Melque and the archaeological site with remains from the Visigoth period, being the best preserved set in the entire peninsula from this time.
And it is only about twenty minutes from the Finca los Pájaros Rural House by car, which makes it a very interesting destination to visit without thinking much.
It is about 5 km north of the municipality of San Martín de Montalbán, and can be easily reached by an asphalt road. It is a short circular route of about 3 kilometers, very easy, and that we can cover in just three quarters of an hour.
It is essential to stop and contemplate slowly the old and famous church of Santa María de Melque, where the visitor will feel like a traveler in history. This monument has been opened to the public with an interesting Interpretation Center that will help us better understand this building and its importance in that historical moment.
