Although it is less voluminous than other eagles, it also has a significant size of approximately 170 centimeters of wingspan. Perhaps due to this circumstance it is more agile than the rest of the species, which makes it easier for it to hunt different medium-sized birds.
The youngest, during the first year, show a dark brown back and a light or dark rust brown belly.
Typical of Mediterranean environments, mainly in Extremadura, it can also be seen in the Montes de Toledo.
