Another very abundant plant species in the Montes de Toledo is the Cantueso or Lavandula, also called that way because of its resemblance to the aromatic plant.
It is a branchy shrub, which can reach up to one meter in height. Its characteristic violet or reddish flowers are clustered in dense spikes that serve as a lure for pollinating insects in the spring season.
It is a plant highly valued for its antiseptic and aromatic properties, frequently used in pharmacy and perfumery.
