With just 600 inhabitants, this town in the Montes de Toledo borders the municipalities of Almonacid, Mora, Nambroca, Orgaz, Mascaraque, and Chueca.

Its origin is possibly Hispano-Roman, lasting during the Muslim period in a Mozarabic town.At the end of the 16th century there is documentary evidence as a Toledo village.
