Toledo is an immense amalgam of historical and artistic monuments to visit, and it is often difficult to make a recommendation of which ones are essential, and which ones are not. Although for any lover of Toledo, as we are at Finca los Pájaros Rural House, it is impossible not to recommend the visit of each and every one of them. Many times the limitation is set by time, since the visitor has a limited period to visit the city, and it is usually impossible to get to know it thoroughly in just a few hours, or even a few days.
“Toledo Monumental” is an interesting option, since through the so-called tourist bracelet you can visit seven important monuments managed by the Archdiocese of Toledo for just € 9. And also, as long as the bracelet is on your wrist, you can repeat your visit …
These monuments are: Royal College of Noble Maidens, Church of the Jesuits, San Juan de los Reyes, old mosque of Cristo de la Luz, Santo Tomé, where you will find the culminating work of El Greco “The Burial of the Lord of Orgaz”; the Church of El Salvador and the old synagogue of Santa María la Blanca.
Not all the city’s monuments are there, and some of the most important are missing. But they are monuments of the most outstanding and that should not be missing in your visit.
